Artisan Council is seeking a Video Editor (3 month contract, with opportunity to extend or convert to Full Time) with experience in social media content production and design direction. Specifically, you will be a social native who spends your time engaging with, laughing at, and creating TikTok content, and sharing the best branded Twitter moments with your friends and colleagues. You will assist the Creative Team developing digital ad campaign assets, editing motion assets and adding graphics and design to both motion and still assets, as well as assisting in social media content creation, managing delivery timelines, and more.

Reporting to Artisan Council’s Creative Director and with a dotted line to the Senior Producer, you will have opportunities to contribute to process improvements and develop additional skills in motion graphics, animation, and sound design. The position requires balancing multiple priorities, from day-to-day asset optimization to contributing to efficiency-driven projects, while maintaining strict quality standards and timely delivery. The scope extends beyond routine execution to include participation in key strategic discussions, mock creation sessions, and initiatives that enhance our creative production capabilities. Success in this role means delivering consistently high-quality visual assets that meet both creative excellence and operational efficiency standards, directly contributing to Artisan Council’s creative goals.

*What will you be responsible for?*

  • You will support the Creative Director and Senior Producer in bringing internal stakeholder visions to life, while contributing your own concepts on the fly, reporting to the Senior Producer.

  • You will edit, color grade, sound mix and export final deliverables autonomously.

  • You will supervise and implement video edits with external production partners.

  • You will execute trailer cutdowns, H1 videos, multi-title assets, drop-ins and other defined video deliverables.

  • You will deliver high-quality video edits that meet business goals and project requirements within established timelines.

  • You will help organize and deliver production assets, overseeing quality control and file naming conventions from round one to final delivery.

  • You will help coordinate with post-production vendors, providing the required assets, footage, and raw files throughout the post-production process.

  • You will act as point person for internal communication for post production on your video projects

  • You will work with Creative Team to create successful video content while acting as expert for all Post Production needs

  • You will export and re-format video footage to a wide variety of ratios and compression formats autonomously

  • You will have experience with spotting and executing upon editing trends for innovative TikTok and Instagram Reels content

  • You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work in cooperation with art directors or other outside production/post-production resources

*What kind of skills should you have?*

Please note carefully. Applicants without this experience will not be considered.

  • 8+ years relevant experience in Editing with a focus on D2C, beauty brands, and consumer products.

  • 8+ years relevant experience in Video Editing, especially with the softwares Adobe Premiere and DaVinci (After Effects experience a plus, Animation (2D/3D) experience a plus, full Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/Illustrator) a plus)

  • Experience in Beauty, Skincare, and/or Lifestyle brands.

  • Proven experience with sound editing, including music tracking and sound effects

  • Ability to take various pieces of content and turn them into a cohesive and engaging video that tells a story or hooks the viewer without a detailed directive

  • Music video editing experience is a plus

  • You will have a working knowledge of Google Docs, Google Sheets, and the Office suite.

  • Usage of generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency, with a willingness to learn effective prompting and evaluation practices.

  • You will have familiarity with project management and content planning tools such as Trello, Asana, Jira, Basecamp and more, and the ability to learn new systems.

  • You will have excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills.

  • You will be a creative thinker and problem solver, able to generate multiple ideas and fresh creative approaches on the go.

  • You will be a self-starter, possessing the ability to act and operate efficiently and independently to accomplish objectives.

  • You will have optimum time management skills with attention to detail, especially under pressure or time-sensitive deadlines.

  • You will be willing to work nontraditional hours, independently remotely, and go above & beyond where necessary.

  • You will have an understanding of overall commercial business practices, trading terms and conditions.

  • Proven experience managing managing deliverables and file management within Google Drive systems and frame.io, with complex timelines managed by a Producer

  • A passion for creativity and commitment to staying up to date with current and future trends

  • Ability to apply creative thinking to developing engaging concepts and producing web and social media content

  • Ability to lead multiple projects and asset deliveries with calm and ease.

  • Strong portfolio and breadth of knowledge across varying types of content (including motion/video) from small to large campaigns.

  • Passion for creating compelling campaigns for our current and prospective Artisan Council clients

  • Proactive personality with exceptional interpersonal skills

  • Strong capacity for multi-tasking; ability to prioritize and maintain a high level of accuracy completing multiple tasks in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

Contract Pay

$8,500-$10,500/month
