Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Pune City for a Veterinary Doctor specializing in small animals, focusing on the care and wellness of stray animals. The Veterinary Doctor will perform examinations, diagnose and treat illnesses, conduct surgeries, and administer vaccinations. Additional responsibilities include monitoring animal recovery, providing guidance on nutrition and care, maintaining medical records, and collaborating with the NGO team to improve animal welfare initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Possess strong skills and experience in animal health diagnostics, medical treatments, and conducting surgeries.

  • Proficiency in vaccination protocols, disease prevention, and implementing care plans tailored for small animals.

  • Capability in handling and rehabilitating stray animals, including experience with behavioral management and addressing their unique needs.

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with NGO staff and volunteers to carry out animal welfare missions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for advising animal caregivers and raising awareness about stray animal care.

  • Strong organizational skills to maintain medical records and ensure compliance with veterinary protocols and regulations.

  • Veterinary degree (DVM or equivalent) is required; additional certifications in small animal care are a plus.
