In this position...
You will be a vital member of the Body Shop leadership team, reporting to the Area Manager. You will lead the teams in the tactical execution of global manufacturing standards. Your focus will be on ensuring the highest levels of integrity and dimensional precision, removing daily technical barriers for your team, and developing the next generation of "Leaders as Teachers.”

Responsibilities
What you'll do...

  • FPS Implementation: Drive the Ford Production System (FPS) operating systems and processes to ensure the department meets or exceeds global manufacturing standards.

  • Weld & Dimensional Quality: Take ownership of weld integrity and dimensional accuracy measurables; use QLS and ECATS data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.

  • Business Results: Drive department performance across all SQCDMME categories (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Maintenance, and Environment).

  • Barrier Removal: Support the Area Manager by identifying and removing internal barriers, securing necessary resources, and aligning maintenance objectives with production needs.

  • Develop Capability: Coach and develop GSRs and technical staff, fostering a "Leaders as Teachers" culture to ensure the team has the skills to handle high-volume, high-complexity automotive manufacturing.

  • Maintenance Strategy: Evaluate and deliver FTPM (Ford Total Productive Maintenance) measurables.

  • Safety & Environment: Address all department Health and Safety concerns, ensuring a safe working environment for all hourly and salaried personnel.

Qualifications
You'll have...

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED

  • Production experience

  • Strong ability to interface with plant hourly, salaried personnel and plant management

  • Strong ability to present in front of plant management

  • Ability to teach Ford Production System principles

  • Union negotiations experience

  • Competent in the use of data for decision making

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Excellent leadership skills with demonstrated ability to resolve diverse problems

  • Work well under pressure and to be able to work under crisis management when necessary

  • Ability to work and multi-task in fast paced environment

  • Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership in One FORD (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree

  • Broad production experience

  • Lead Process Coach experience

  • 6-sigma designation preferred

  • Strong analytical skills and quick decision making capability preferred

  • Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook)
