Job Description

SUMMARY

Happier is looking for a highly creative, culturally attuned Social Media & Content Manager to shape and grow our digital presence across Instagram, TikTok, Substack/email, and emerging platforms. This role is equal parts strategist, creator, storyteller, and community builder — someone who understands how to translate a physical brand experience into compelling, social-first content that people want to engage with and share.

You will lead the day-to-day execution of our social channels while helping define the voice, visual identity, and cultural relevance of Happier Grocery online. The ideal candidate has strong creative instincts, a sharp eye for aesthetics, deep knowledge of internet culture and food/wellness trends, and the ability to move quickly while maintaining a high standard of taste.

This role is on site 5 days a week in our NYC office and reports to the Director of Brand Marketing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own and manage the social content calendar across Instagram, TikTok, and other digital channels, aligning content with broader brand, retail, and marketing initiatives.

  • Concept, shoot, edit, and publish social-first content including short-form video, photography, interviews, store moments, events, product storytelling, founder-led content, and trend-driven formats.

  • Capture the energy of the Happier Grocery community and in-store experience in a way that feels authentic, elevated, and culturally relevant.

  • Write compelling, concise, on-brand copy across social media, email, and other owned channels.

  • Stay deeply tapped into trends, platform behavior, emerging creators, food/wellness culture, and evolving consumer habits — proactively bringing fresh ideas to the table.

  • Manage community engagement across platforms, fostering conversation and building meaningful relationships with our audience.

  • Partner closely with the creative, culinary, operations, and leadership teams to ensure consistency across all customer touchpoints.

  • Track performance metrics and translate insights into actionable recommendations that improve engagement, growth, and conversion.

  • Help evolve Happier Grocery’s overall digital voice, visual language, and content strategy as the brand grows.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • 2–4+ years of experience in social media, content creation, brand marketing, or creative strategy - ideally within food, hospitality, wellness, fashion, or lifestyle brands.

  • Strong creative eye with experience shooting and editing short-form video and photography for social platforms.

  • Excellent copywriting and storytelling skills with a strong understanding of tone and brand voice.

  • Deep understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and social platform trends, formats, analytics, and best practices.

  • Experience using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, Dash Hudson, or similar editing/scheduling platforms.

  • Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Collaborative, proactive, and excited to build alongside a growing brand.

  • Passion for food, culture, wellness, hospitality, and community-building.
