ROLE SUMMARY:
King’s School The Crown is built in extensive grounds offering world-class educational and sporting facilities, enabling students to pursue a diverse range of interests. Our purpose-Built Campus of over 40,000m2 located in the heart of Cairo's most prestigious gated community, The Crown, 6th October city. This school is the first in the region to cater to students from 3 months up to 18 years with state-of-the-art facilities, including: a full football field, 400m athletic track , 25m 8 lane covered swimming pool with learner pool, indoor multi-purpose sports hall, outdoor multipurpose courts and a 522 seat Performing Arts theatre.

We are looking for a School Social Worker to join our team. Reporting to the Executive Head, you will be responsible for supporting students’ social, psychological, and behavioural wellbeing in accordance with the guidelines of the Egyptian Ministry of Education and Technical Education. The role focuses on promoting positive student behaviour, addressing social challenges affecting learning, strengthening communication between school and families, and ensuring a safe educational environment.

The ideal candidate will be a positive, focused, enthusiastic team player that performs well under pressure, who is receptive to new ideas and direction with a keen interest on future design trends with effective communication and organisation skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor students’ social, behavioural, and emotional wellbeing within the school environment.

  • Identify students who may be experiencing social, behavioural, or family-related difficulties that could impact their academic performance.

  • Provide guidance and support to students through individual or group sessions when needed.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student cases and follow-up actions.

  • Communicate with parents or guardians regarding student behaviour, welfare, and social development when required as per KSTC’s behaviour policy.

  • Work closely with teachers and school leadership to address student behavioural concerns and support managing appropriate interventions.

  • Participate in student support meetings and disciplinary committees when necessary.

  • Promote positive behaviour, respect, and social responsibility among students.

  • Conduct investigations into behaviour incidents, report as per the KSTC policy and report the findings to the Head of Section.

  • Assist in resolving conflicts between students and encourage constructive restorative practice.

  • Support social, cultural, and community-based activities that enhance students’ personal development.

  • Support initiatives that promote student wellbeing, mental health awareness, and a positive school environment.

  • Report any safeguarding concerns, including suspected abuse or neglect, in accordance with school policies and Ministry regulations.

  • Ensure confidentiality and ethical handling of sensitive student information.

  • When directed, collaborate with external specialists or community services when additional student support is required.

  • Prepare reports and documentation as required by school administration or the Egyptian Ministry of Education and Technical Education.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Counselling, or a related field.

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counselling, or Educational Psychology is preferred (optional but advantageous).

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience working with children or adolescents, ideally in a school or educational setting.

  • Fluency in English.

  • Registration with the Social Professions Syndicate in Egypt is preferred.

  • Experience in student counselling, social case management, or behavioural support is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and student welfare regulations in Egypt.

  • Familiarity with MOE guidelines for student support and wellbeing.
