Job Description

We are currently seeking a
School Based Social Worker
to join our Aspect Central Coast School in Terrigal NSW.

This is a
part-time
position working
3 days
per week (0.6 FTE) on a
12-month maximum term contract
, with potential for permanency.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the social and emotional wellbeing of students on the autism spectrum

  • Work collaboratively with the Learning Support Team, educators and families

  • Provide practical strategies and support to students and their support networks

  • Liaise with external stakeholders and services where required

  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive and supportive school environment

Qualifications

What you bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work

  • Membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers or willingness to obtain

  • Current driver’s licence, own vehicle and willingness to travel across your local community

  • Experience working with children and young people highly regarded

  • Understanding of neurodiversity-affirming practice and/or experience supporting Autistic individuals

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance

  • Working with Children Check for paid employment in NSW

  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module ‘Quality, Safety and You’
