Job Description

You recognize the turning point. A learner who once hesitated now reads with clarity and assurance. The uncertainty fades. The trajectory shifts. If guiding students to that turning point is the work that drives you, this position is designed for you.

Novatio operates as a fully remote school committed to advancing student achievement through individualized support, rigorous teaching, and quantifiable results. We understand that learners facing reading challenges require more than digital tools and practice sheets. They require strategic intervention, ongoing reinforcement, and instructors who respond adaptively in the moment.

In this position, you will provide virtual reading intervention for students across grades 3–8, while fostering the self-assurance and determination essential for sustained progress. You will interpret diagnostic data to identify areas of need, modify teaching approaches promptly, and design interventions aligned with each student's current level. You will also conduct brief motivational sessions that sustain engagement, accountability, and pride in achievement.

This position suits someone who prizes independence, rapid feedback, and observable results. If you seek the ability to customize instruction while supporting students in achieving documented improvement in reading fluency and comprehension, we invite your application.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Conducting virtual individual and small-group reading intervention for students in grades 3–8

  • Applying assessment and monitoring data to pinpoint comprehension and fluency deficits and modify instruction in real time

  • Adapting instruction to accommodate varied reading proficiency levels, including learners with dyslexia and associated reading obstacles

  • Monitoring student advancement regularly and applying findings to shape subsequent intervention strategies

  • Facilitating structured motivational sessions that reinforce confidence, determination, and responsibility for growth

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Conducting large-format classes using a standardized, inflexible curriculum

  • Adhering to rigid intervention protocols without responding to individual student requirements

  • Serving as a passive facilitator for software-driven learning platforms

  • Relying on superficial rewards rather than cultivating genuine student motivation and self-confidence

Reading Specialist Key Responsibilities
Produce documented improvements in reading fluency and comprehension for students in grades 3–8 by delivering individualized virtual intervention and motivational guidance that fosters enduring confidence.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or a related field

  • Reading intervention certification or equivalent state endorsement (e.g., Reading Specialist certification or equivalent)

  • Training or certification in dyslexia intervention or structured literacy approaches

  • At least 2 years of experience delivering one-on-one or small-group reading interventions for students in grades 3–8

  • Experience supporting students with dyslexia or related reading difficulties

  • Ability to interpret student progress data and use it to adjust instruction effectively

  • Strong virtual communication and student engagement skills

  • Authorized to work in the United States
