Job Description

Position Summary

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that suppliers consistently meet quality, delivery, and performance standards. This role partners closely with suppliers, internal engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to drive continuous improvement, resolve quality issues, and support new product introduction (NPI) activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Management

  • Evaluate, qualify, and monitor supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and cost metrics

  • Conduct supplier audits (on-site and remote) to ensure compliance with company and industry standards

  • Develop and maintain supplier quality scorecards and KPIs

  • Incoming Quality & Issue Resolution

  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for supplier-related issues

  • Drive resolution of non-conforming materials and ensure timely containment actions

  • Collaborate with suppliers on failure analysis and continuous improvement initiatives

  • New Product Introduction (NPI) Support

  • Support supplier selection and qualification for new components and products

  • Review and approve PPAP, FAI, control plans, and process documentation

  • Ensure suppliers are prepared for ramp-up and mass production

  • Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve supplier processes, yield, and product quality

  • Implement quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, SPC, and Six Sigma methodologies

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive cost reduction and efficiency

  • Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure supplier compliance with quality standards (ISO 9001, etc.)

  • Maintain documentation related to supplier quality activities

  • Support internal and external audits

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field)

  • 3+ years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or related role

  • Strong knowledge of quality systems and tools (8D, FMEA, SPC, CAPA, PPAP)

  • Experience with supplier audits and quality improvement initiatives

  • Familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in data center hardware, electronics, or manufacturing environment

  • Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher)

  • Experience working with global suppliers
