Job Summary
The Project Controller is responsible for overseeing project cost management, financial controls, procurement monitoring, and project reporting across multiple projects. This role ensures that project expenditures, procurement activities, and operational performance remain aligned with approved budgets, financial targets, and governance standards. The position works closely with project management, finance, operations, and external stakeholders to drive cost efficiency, strengthen financial discipline, and support strategic decision-making for the organization.

Key Responsibilities
Project Cost Control & Financial Management

  • Lead project cost monitoring, budget tracking, and financial reporting across multiple projects.

  • Ensure project expenses and procurement activities remain aligned with approved budgets and financial objectives.

  • Monitor project cash flow and financial performance to support sustainable operations.

Procurement & Commercial Oversight

  • Coordinate with Quantity Surveyors (QS), Project Management teams, and department heads to ensure procurement controls and cost efficiency.

  • Review procurement activities and contracts to strengthen commercial and financial governance.

  • Support value engineering initiatives and cost-saving programs.

Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Develop project financial dashboards, project P&Ls, monitoring systems, and management reports.

  • Conduct financial forecasting and analysis to support operational and strategic planning.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve project profitability and financial performance.

Governance, Controls & Compliance

  • Propose and implement policies related to tax compliance, internal controls, and reporting integrity.

  • Strengthen governance frameworks and operational discipline across projects.

  • Identify financial and operational risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

Cross-Functional Coordination & Leadership

  • Serve as a key liaison between internal operations teams and external finance/accounting support groups.

  • Support the COO in project evaluations, strategic planning, and operational decision-making.

  • Build and manage the Project Control function and support team development over time.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

  • CPA designation is preferred.

  • At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in construction, project finance, cost control, or real estate development handling multiple projects.

  • Strong background in project budgeting, procurement controls, cash flow management, and financial reporting.

  • Proficient in spreadsheets, ERP/accounting systems, and reporting tools.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and systems management skills.

  • Capable of working independently while leading cross-functional coordination efforts.

  • Audit experience from Big 4 or mid-sized firms is an advantage.

  • Exposure to feasibility studies, value engineering, or project financing is preferred.
