Plant Supervisor (Machine Building) - Afternoon Shift

Description

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Plant Supervisor is fully responsible for executing and managing all AFTERNOON shift operations and personnel to produce quality components in a timely manner.

  • Manage staff, delegate work, track attendance and work hours, as well as communicate any necessary disciplinary action.

  • Work "hands on" in machine building (mechanical, electrical or pipefitting skills)

  • Oversee the scheduling of workforce to meet project deadlines.

  • Track and maintain job progress reports and manage resources.

  • Liaison with engineering and project management departments as needed to successfully complete jobs in a timely manner.

  • Manage the development and adherence to work instructions.

  • Continuously improve all plant processes.

  • Promote positive customer and employee relations.

  • Ensure the quality of completed work within the plant.

  • Order, track and manage raw materials and supplies

  • Participate as necessary in all meetings, training events and seminars.

  • Any other duties assigned by Plant Manager as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven supervisory experience

  • Must have worked within a machine building facility

  • Must have "hands on" experience in mechanical, electrical or pipefitting within the machine or tool building industry.

  • Proven ability to manage schedules and timelines.

  • Above average computer skills including experience with Microsoft Excel.

4:00 p.m. – 2:30 a.m. Monday – Friday, with some Saturdays 

  • 50 - 58 hours per week on average.
