Join our dynamic team at Channelview Cogen, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our power plant. As a senior staff member under the guidance of the Operations & Maintenance Manager, you will plan, organize, and supervise shift operations to meet plant reliability, safety, and environmental standards. Your expertise will be crucial as you oversee all personnel and equipment involved in steam and electricity production. Be prepared to respond to plant needs at any hour, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently while supporting various departments.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • You will provide direct supervision to Plant Operations personnel, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

  • Assist the O&M Manager in all aspects of department administration and power plant management, contributing to the overall success of the facility.

  • Collaborate daily with the Maintenance Supervisor, stepping in as needed to ensure operational continuity.

  • Conduct routine plant tours to inspect equipment, provide guidance, and ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures.

  • Maintain accurate reports on downtime, outages, and production performance, enabling informed decision-making and operational improvements.

What You Bring

  • A high school diploma is required; a vocational school diploma or equivalent education is preferred.

  • You have a minimum of four years of experience in a power plant or control room environment, with at least two years in a supervisory role.

  • Your ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings, along with technical documentation, sets you apart.

  • You possess detailed knowledge of power plant safety and are proficient in using software applications like Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • A solid understanding of power plant equipment and processes, along with functional knowledge of team responsibilities, is essential for success in this role.
