About The Role
You’ll play a central role in keeping the logistics network running smoothly by managing financial control, cost optimisation, and administrative accuracy across a £70m operation. Your focus will be ensuring all payments, terms, billing, and month‑end processes are completed correctly and on time, while resolving live queries and supporting finance teams.

A key part of the role is spotting opportunities to reduce spend and deliver measurable cost benefits across the network.

You’ll also work closely with internal stakeholders and external transport partners, building strong relationships that drive collaboration, operational improvements, and innovative ways of working. Success in this role means being proactive, detail‑driven, and confident managing both numbers and people to keep the logistics network efficient, compliant, and financially controlled.

Role Responsibilities

  • Transport billing activities are managed by resolving self‑bill invoice queries, outstanding confirmations, credit issues, and haulier balance discrepancies.

  • Credit control collaboration ensures all customer queries are handled efficiently through close partnership with Credit Control teams.

  • SAP rate card maintenance is carried out to keep pricing and rate information for primary transport providers accurate and up to date.

  • Network cost analysis is performed by working with DSP, NE, and supply chain partners to identify cost‑reduction opportunities and service improvements.

  • ARIBA process management supports accurate PO handling, one‑off supplier payments, and transactional compliance.

  • Transport compliance oversight is maintained through effective backhaul setup, POD EDI performance, missing paperwork management, and adherence to delivery regulations.

  • Transport payment control includes calculating fuel escalations, processing payments, and maintaining cost trackers and haulier balances.

  • Continuous improvement delivery

Experience And Key Attributes

  • Working knowledge of 3PL contracts covering Transport and NDC warehousing, with an understanding of related operational processes (desirable).

  • Familiarity with logistics contracts including raw material agreements and associated requirements (desirable).

  • Experience in FMCG supply chains across GB, Offshore, and international operations, demonstrating strong industry capability (essential).

  • Strong SAP expertise with proven ability to navigate and utilise SAP systems effectively (essential).

  • Excellent communication skills enabling confident and effective engagement with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Collaborative team approach with the ability to work positively within cross‑functional environments.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast‑paced operational setting.

  • Skilled in customer query resolution
