Practice Questions

💡Technical Questions (3)
  • 1.Can you walk me through your experience with Air Handling Units (AHUs) and how you approach troubleshooting an AHU that is not maintaining the required temperature and airflow in a manufacturing space?
  • 2.Describe the key differences in design and operation between standard plant steam and clean steam systems, and what considerations you keep in mind when supporting upgrades to clean steam distribution.
  • 3.If a critical compressed air utility header in the plant develops a leak or drops pressure significantly, what steps do you take to identify the issue and coordinate a repair without disrupting production?
🎯Behavioral Questions (3)
  • 1.Tell me about a time you had to coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal maintenance teams to execute a facilities utility upgrade. How did you ensure everyone stayed aligned?
  • 2.Describe a situation where you had to walk a utility system in the field and discovered a discrepancy between the as-built drawings and the actual physical installation. What did you do?
  • 3.Give me an example of a time you had to troubleshoot an urgent HVAC or utility failure in a manufacturing environment. How did you handle the pressure?
🧩Situational Questions (2)
  • 1.You are managing the commissioning of a new chilled water system upgrade. During the field walk, the contractor informs you that the supplied chilled water pumps are larger than specified and will not fit in the existing utility room footprint without major structural changes. What do you do?
  • 2.A production manager approaches you on the floor stating that the humidity in their manufacturing zone is too high, but the Building Automation System (BAS) shows the AHU is operating normally and maintaining setpoints. How do you resolve this discrepancy?
