Job Description

Title: Mechanical Designer Engineer

Location: Rochester Hills, MI(Onsite)

Duration:6-12 months/contract

1/2 phone interview (Maybe a Face to Face)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide mechanical design and development of new products or product enhancements for the automotive service tools industry. Must be able to perform in a team environment with engineers from other disciplines and nationalities.

Prepare thorough and accurate documentation for release to manufacturing and for internal product design records.

Test and validate products to assure product performance and quality.

Work with manufacturing and service personnel to resolve problems and improve manufacturability and serviceability of products.

Develop or modify manufacturing processes.

Work with other groups on value engineering initiatives to reduce product cost and or improve performance of designs.

Develop and understanding of the company’s products and their applications.

Provide administrative support for Engineering Computer systems.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Design Engineering environment.

Hands on experience in automotive maintenance and repair is preferred.

Must be proficient in the use of the computer for design. Autodesk Inventor CAD experience is preferred.

Up to date knowledge in mechanical design

Basic understanding of complementary technical disciplines, particularly electronics

Able to work with others and with minimal supervision.

Must possess excellent communication skills.

Must possess good time management and organizational skills.

Must possess good problem solving and analytical skills.

Must be able to demonstrate initiative.

Prefer to have practical experience in manufacturing processes and equipment.
