Job Summary

PTS Advance is seeking a Contract Manufacturing Engineer for an onsite opportunity in Troy, MI. This role will support manufacturing operations by improving production efficiency, quality, and overall process performance within a fast-paced industrial environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background with experience supporting manufacturing processes, process documentation, and production improvements in a fabrication and/or electro-mechanical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and improve manufacturing processes to support efficient production flow and product quality

  • Evaluate and optimize manufacturing equipment, tooling, and machinery performance

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions, process flows, and standard operating procedures

  • Partner with engineering teams during new product introduction (NPI) phases to support manufacturability and scalability

  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and production issues while implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime

  • Collaborate with quality teams on inspection methods, quality control plans, and process improvements

  • Support pilot builds and product launch activities

  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions

  • Analyze manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for process optimization and waste reduction

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, procurement, and supply chain

  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment while ensuring compliance with company and regulatory safety standards

  • Provide hands-on support to production teams as needed to drive operational improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred

  • 3–5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in industrial, electro-mechanical, or metal fabrication environments

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication techniques, and assembly operations

  • Experience supporting production environments with hands-on process improvement initiatives

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or related continuous improvement methodologies

  • Experience with process documentation, work instructions, and manufacturing procedures

  • Knowledge of quality systems and tools including process control and FMEA

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Experience supporting pilot builds, NPI activities, and production launches preferred

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing safety regulations and best practices
