Wixom, Michigan
 with our 
Mobility Development & Manufacturing Center
 — our first U.S. hub focused on 
state-of-the-art automotive lighting and mobility technologies
. This role offers the unique advantage of 
sitting directly at the manufacturing location
, where 
engineering, technology, and production teams are fully co-located under one roof
, enabling fast decisions and hands-on execution. 

We are seeking a 
Molding Engineer
 to lead 
day-to-day development, optimization, and support of injection molding processes.
 This role will play a key part of supporting new program launches, continuous improvement initiatives, and day-to-day manufacturing operations 

 

What You’ll Do
 

 

Injection Molding Processes
 

  • Develop, Validate and 

optimize injection molding processes
 and process windows.
  • Utilize 

scientific molding principles
 and DOE methodology.
  • Establish, document, and 

maintain standard molding parameters
, setup sheets, and work instructions.
  • Support APQP deliverables including 

PFMEA, control plans, process flow diagrams
, and work instructions.
  • Monitor and improve 

process capability (Cp/Cpk)
 on critical-to-quality characteristics.

Injection Molding Tooling
 

  • Collaborate with tooling, product engineering, quality, and suppliers to ensure 

robust mold and process design
.
  • Support new mold trials (T0–T3),

 PPAP builds, and production validation runs.

Continuous Improvement
 

  • Support 

preventive maintenance activities
 and 
mold changeover
 improvements.
  • Drive 

scrap reduction, cycle time optimization, OEE improvement
, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Lead and participate in 

root cause analysis and corrective actions
 (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone).
  • Implement 

error-proofing (poka-yoke), standard work
, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support 

plant launches, production ramp-ups
, and stabilization activities in a startup or growth environment.

 

Injection Molding Facilities
 

  • Develop and maintain 

documented contingency
 plans for critical molding processes and equipment.
  • Responsible for 

specification and sourcing of new injection molding
 and ancillary equipment.

 

What We’re Looking For
 

  • 3–7+ years of 

injection molding experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of thermoplastics

, mold design fundamentals, and molding machines.
  • Experience supporting automotive manufacturing environments preferred.

  • Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, control plans, and IATF 16949 requirements.

  • Experience with 

scientific molding, hot runner systems
, and automation is a plus.
  • Bonus:

 Greenfield or brownfield manufacturing experience.
