H&H / Drainage Civil Engineer

A rapidly growing civil engineering consulting firm in Houston is seeking an experienced H&H / Drainage Engineer to support a strong backlog of municipal roadway and drainage projects throughout the Greater Houston area.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly collaborative team working on public infrastructure projects for agencies including Harris County, the City of Houston, TxDOT, and surrounding municipalities. The firm is experiencing significant growth and offers the opportunity to take ownership of drainage design and analysis work on impactful long-term infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for municipal roadway and drainage projects

  • Prepare drainage studies, reports, and technical documentation

  • Support roadway drainage design, detention analysis, and stormwater modeling

  • Conduct drainage impact analyses and drainage boundary delineation

  • Coordinate with roadway, transportation, and utility teams

  • Assist with project delivery from preliminary analysis through final design

  • Interface with public agencies and internal project teams as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • PE license preferred (or actively pursuing PE)

  • Approximately 4–8+ years of relevant H&H/drainage experience

  • Strong municipal or public infrastructure experience preferred

  • Experience working on roadway drainage projects for counties, cities, or DOT-related projects

  • Ability to independently execute drainage analyses and technical reports

  • Hands-on experience with EPA SWMM, XP-SWMM, or InfoWorks ICM

  • Additional experience with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and ArcGIS Pro

  • Experience with drainage impact analysis, detention systems, hydrology/hydraulics modeling, and drainage boundary delineation strongly preferred
