Job Description

About The Role
A well-funded fintech startup (Series A) is looking for a highly driven
Full Stack Engineer
to help modernize a centuries-old industry. You'll join a small, ambitious team building impactful products, with the opportunity to own features from idea to launch and beyond. The company operates in the business banking and financial technology space, serving AI agents and global teams with modern payment, card, and treasury solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Build full-stack web features — front-end and back-end — from zero to production.

  • Integrate third-party APIs and design robust state machines.

  • Own projects from inception through launch and ongoing iteration.

  • Hold yourself and teammates accountable to high standards of quality.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 2–9 years of professional full-stack software development experience.

  • Strong proficiency with TypeScript, React, Python (FastAPI), PostgreSQL, and AWS — these are dealbreakers.

  • Solid background building web applications end-to-end.

  • Experience delivering software in fintech or other regulated industries.

  • Strong CS fundamentals.

Nice To Have

  • Side projects that demonstrate initiative and a drive to build.

  • Educational background from a reputable program (top-tier university preferred).

  • Experience at a fintech, crypto, or growth-stage startup rather than a large tech company.

Location & Work Arrangement

Practice Questions

💡Technical Questions (3)
  • 1.How would you design a robust state machine for handling the lifecycle of a cross-border payment, and what specific PostgreSQL and FastAPI features would you leverage to ensure data integrity?
  • 2.Walk me through your approach to integrating a third-party banking API, specifically how you handle authentication, rate limiting, and webhook payloads in a FastAPI and AWS environment.
  • 3.When building a complex financial dashboard with React and TypeScript, how do you manage client-side state and ensure type safety across the full stack?
🎯Behavioral Questions (3)
  • 1.Tell me about a time you took ownership of a feature from inception to launch in a regulated or high-stakes environment. What was your process?
  • 2.Describe a situation where you had to hold yourself or a teammate accountable to high standards of quality under a tight deadline.
  • 3.This role requires building products from zero to production. Can you share an experience where you built something from scratch, particularly highlighting any side projects or initiatives you started?
🧩Situational Questions (2)
  • 1.You are tasked with building a new treasury management feature that requires real-time balance updates. The third-party API you rely on is intermittently dropping webhook notifications. How do you design the system to remain robust and accurate?
  • 2.You join the team and notice an existing React/FastAPI codebase lacks automated testing, and deployments are manual and risky. You have a new feature to deliver next week. How do you balance delivering the feature with improving the codebase?
