FP&A Analyst - Aerospace/ Manufacturing industry

Position Overview

The
FP&A Analyst
is responsible for delivering financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making across the business unit. Reporting to the DVP, Business Unit Controller, this role provides financial consulting and analytical support to senior leadership, including financial presentations, capital expenditure analysis, business opportunity assessments, and acquisition analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the consolidation and reporting of business unit financial performance

  • Review consolidated financial data for accuracy and analyze variances against budget, forecast, and prior year

  • Communicate financial results and insights to the Business Unit Manager and Controller

  • Analyze key performance indicators, including revenue, cost of sales, gross margin, operating expenses, and working capital

  • Identify trends and recommend performance improvements to senior leadership

  • Support quarterly

SOX/ SOX 404
control testing and ensure compliance at the business unit level
  • Assist facilities with financial close, forecasting, reporting, and analysis

  • Develop and enhance financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning

  • Utilize business intelligence tools to create dashboards and reporting solutions

  • Prepare financial evaluations for capital investments and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Lead coordination of the annual budget process in alignment with corporate guidelines

  • Support preparation of presentations for divisional and executive leadership

Qualifications:

Required:

  • U.S. Citizenship (ITAR compliance)

  • Experience within the aerospace manufacturing industry is a MUST!

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

Preferred:

  • CPA certification and/or Master’s degree

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and accounting

  • Background in manufacturing environments strongly preferred

  • 3–5 years of leadership or management experience

  • Public company experience preferred

  • *M&A experience is a plus*

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of business finance, financial analysis, and modeling

  • Knowledge of

US GAAP and SOX 404 requirements
  • Advanced proficiency in

Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables)
and PowerPoint
  • Experience with ERP systems (

SAP, Oracle,
Business Central)
  • Familiarity with financial consolidation tools (e.g.,

HFM
) and data visualization tools (e.g.,
Power BI)
