Job Description

Interview process for TX: two (2) virtual. One 30 minute with HR and a second with the team/ sr engineers and director for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Salary Range:
$90k to $100k (non-exmpt, 35 hour work week + OT + many financial perks + The client covers 100% of health insurance premiums for employees and their immediate family)

Dont need to be in Austin TX and client will pay for relocation for qualified/interested candidates

  • Must have 4 year college/university degree with focus in engineering, IT, Physics etc.

  • Must pass BG and Drug

  • Must have 18+ months of FSE experience

  • Must be comfortable traveling to 2 locations one in Taylor and the other in Plugerville which are 20 miles apart.

  • This role will require international travel for training and collaboration. Initial training will take place in Japan or Taiwan for an extended period. Candidates must be able to travel internationally. Client is currently finalizing training schedules, start dates, and team headcount.

  • Must already be employed by an equipment vendor such as AMSL, Applied Materials, Tokyo Electron, etc). Not seeking client experience type candidates who are working at TI, Samsung, etc).

We are seeking a
Field Service Engineer
with hands-on semiconductor equipment experience to join our client's growing engineering team. This position is ideal for early-career engineers (2–5 years of experience) who are passionate about advanced semiconductor technologies and want to continue building their technical expertise through direct customer interaction, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex systems.

You will work closely with global engineering teams and customers to ensure the optimal performance of precision inspection and metrology equipment. This role requires strong technical problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex semiconductor inspection and metrology systems.

  • Perform preventative maintenance and system upgrades on advanced equipment in cleanroom environments.

  • Interface directly with customers to assess issues, deliver technical solutions, and ensure high system uptime.

  • Support system integration, calibration, and testing processes.

  • Collaborate with global engineering teams to resolve challenging technical issues.

  • Provide documentation, service reports, and feedback to management.

  • Participate in equipment evaluations, training sessions, and product improvement initiatives.

  • Support the local service operation and contribute to a strong customer relationship network.

Qualifications for the Role

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in

Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Physics, Materials Science, or Computer Engineering
(Chemistry accepted if candidate has hands-on FSE or similar engineering experience).
  • 2–5 years of professional engineering experience

in the semiconductor equipment industry (not a technician-level role).
  • Hands-on experience using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, and hand tools.

  • Experience working in a

cleanroom environment

  • Familiarity with

lasers, vacuum systems, and optical systems

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with international teams.

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally for customer support and training.

  • U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.

Preferred:

  • Bilingual in

  • Experience with

photomask, mask inspection, metrology (EUV/DUV), lithography, optics, camera systems, lasers, or robotics

  • Prior experience with installation projects lasting
