The Regional Sales Director is a critical role on our high-performing sales team. The successful candidate will manage all sales and executional functions within their assigned geography, including retail sales, account management, and wholesaler sales. Selling and servicing PMI U.S.’s products in retail stores across the assigned geography includes driving new item distribution, executing promotions, merchandising products, and ensuring product freshness. This role also serves as the sales functional leader for their region on the VP of Sales’ executive team. This individual effectively leverages data to provide leadership and direction to their team, enabling the development of fact-based customer presentations and consistent execution of our call process. They are responsible for managing budgets for merchandising materials, T&E, and SG&A within the region. The successful candidate is self-motivated to achieve their personal best every day while fostering an environment built on cooperation, credibility, candor, consistency, and a commitment to exceptional performance.
Key Accountabilities
- Manages and provides direction to all assigned team members in support of the achievement of Company and Regional business objectives.
- Oversees and manages appropriate routing and call coverage of team members to ensure proper execution of distribution and merchandising objectives.
- Communicate clear goals and provide visibility to performance against goals.
- Analyzes the business building opportunities and develops executional plans to accomplish company, region, and market goals and initiatives.
- Oversees and manages team to develop strategic business plans that will grow operating profits and revenue year to year with his/her assigned customer group. The focus will be against distribution, merchandising execution, pricing and promotion implementation, identifying region growth opportunities and category management.
- Assess and evaluate the business results of all customers and recommend change strategies as needed.
- Regularly provides business updates, including drivers, drags, and operational metrics, and performance against addressing the gaps to VP Sales.
- Collaborates effectively to ensure alignment of executional objectives within market in service of providing appropriate direction.
- Understands and translates national and regional policies, procedures and operating strategies and plans to his/ her team.
- Continuously monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging consumer preferences to inform strategic decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
- Communicates with Impact consistently with team, cross-functional partners and his/ her customers.
- Collaborates and actively engage with Market Sales Managers and Talent Acquisition in recruiting for new team members in accordance with company recruiting and selection guidelines and policies.
- Develops and ensures alignment of personalized development plans for direct reports based on Sales Competency Model.
- Provide ongoing coaching to support team development in accordance with Performance Management standards and principles and Sales Competency Model
- Creates a culture that fosters cooperation, credibility, candor, consistency and a commitment to exceptional performance across the team and with cross-functional partners.
Requirements
- Must have prior experience executing within Consumer Product Goods (CPG)
- Experience in Direct Store Delivery and/or Wholesale required
- Strong executive functioning and executive level delivery experience
- General understanding of PnL, Trade Marketing, Analytics, Data Usage, and Category Management
- Experience managing managers of others required
Travel
- Estimated 75% of travel per month
Annual Base Salary Range: $220,000 - $275,000
