Job Description

Our client, a contemporary apparel brand, is seeking a Director of Retail to join their team in NYC!

Responsibilities

  • Oversee multi-location retail storefronts, ensuring consistent performance and brand alignment.

  • Drive overall business results, including sales growth, customer engagement, visual execution, and operational efficiency.

  • Develop and manage monthly staffing plans to ensure appropriate coverage and productivity across all locations.

  • Lead, coach, and develop Store Managers and sales teams, fostering a high-performance culture rooted in accountability and service excellence.

  • Set and monitor sales goals, including clienteling initiatives and relationship-driven revenue streams.

  • Maintain an active floor presence to support sales initiatives, team development, and elevated in-store experiences.

  • Oversee visual merchandising strategies to ensure consistent brand presentation and seasonal storytelling.

  • Ensure operational standards are upheld across all locations, including store organization, compliance, and procedural adherence.

  • Analyze sales performance, KPIs, and customer insights to identify opportunities for growth and operational refinement.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in multi-unit retail management within premium retail environments.

  • Proven track record of driving sales performance and operational improvements across multiple locations.

  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience mentoring and developing high-performing teams.

  • Highly organized and entrepreneurial with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in retail systems and business tools, including POS platforms, Shopify, and Microsoft Office.

  • Strategic and results-driven mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Customer-focused approach with a passion for delivering elevated retail experiences.

  • Open availability, including evenings and weekends as needed.

$110k-150k depending on experience.

Full time on site.
