Job Title: Data Analyst – Videos

Experience - 2 to 4 Years

Location: Mumbai (On-site)

About the Role

Cricbuzz is looking for a sharp, business-oriented Data Analyst to support its Video Programming & Production team (Cricbuzz Studios). This role sits at the intersection of content, product, marketing, and technology. The analyst will be responsible for building robust data pipelines, reporting, extracting actionable insights, and enabling leadership to take informed, data-driven decisions around video strategy, engagement, monetisation, and distribution. This is not a reporting-only role. We are looking for someone who can interpret data in context, influence strategy, and build scalable analytics frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Analytics & Insights

• Analyse video consumption patterns across platforms (App, Web, CTV, Social).

• Track KPIs such as views, watch time, retention, completion rates, time spent, CTR, DAU/MAU impact, sponsorship deliverables, etc.

• Translate raw data into clear business insights for leadership, content heads, and product teams.

• Support performance reviews of sponsorship campaigns, marquee events (IPL, ICC events, bilateral series, etc.).

2. Social & Distribution Reporting

• Track video performance across social platforms.

• Analyse content virality, shareability, and audience cohort behaviour.

• Provide insights into platform-specific optimisation (YouTube vs Instagram vs X, etc.).

• Work closely with the social and video teams to improve reach and engagement.

3. Tools & Platform Expertise

• Work extensively with: o Google Analytics (GA4) o CleverTap o App Store & Play Store analytics o Social media analytics tools (YouTube Studio, Meta Insights, X Analytics, etc.) o OTT/CTV reporting dashboards • Serve as the internal point of contact (POC) for analytics tool vendors.

• Participate in tool evaluation, capability discussions, renewals, and commercial negotiations.

4. Data Engineering & Pipeline Development

• Design and manage structured data pipelines across multiple sources.

• Automate recurring reports and reduce manual data handling.

• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency.

• Build dashboards that allow self-serve insights for stakeholders.

• Use automation and AI tools to streamline reporting, anomaly detection, and forecasting.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with: o Video Programming o Production o Product o Marketing o Subscription/D2C teams

• Understand domain-specific metrics (live vs VOD vs short-form vs studio content).

• Support A/B testing, campaign impact measurement, and content performance benchmarking.

6. Strategic Support

• Forecast performance for upcoming tournaments and series.

• Identify content themes and formats that drive retention and subscription growth.

• Contribute to board-level and leadership presentations with clear, data-backed narratives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3–4 years of experience in data analytics (preferably in OTT, media, sports, or digital content).

• Ability to build sophisticated reporting across various sponsored content campaigns

• Strong hands-on experience with Google Analytics (GA4) and CleverTap.

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel advanced functions, PowerPoint storytelling, etc.).

• Strong understanding of social media metrics and performance reporting.

• Experience building data pipelines and automated dashboards.

• Comfort working in a fast-paced, event-driven environment (live sports).

• Familiarity with automation and AI-assisted reporting tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in OTT, sports broadcasting, or digital media analytics.

• Knowledge of SQL, BI tools, or data visualisation platforms is a plus.

• Passion for cricket and familiarity with global cricket ecosystems.
