Job Description

Our client, a fast-growing technology company disrupting their market through innovative software solutions is looking to bring on a Controller to their growing team. This is a high-impact opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader to join a dynamic, collaborative environment and help shape the financial foundation of their organization.

The Controller will serve as the senior accounting leader within the organization, overseeing all aspects of financial reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will be a critical business partner across the organization and will play a key role in supporting the company’s continued growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the full accounting cycle, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with a focus on accuracy and timeliness

  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP

  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance

  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions

  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

  • Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners

  • Drive the optimization and automation of accounting systems and processes to support scalability / growth

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax and regulatory requirements

  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to senior leadership as needed

Requirements:

  • CPA designation required

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or management role

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and command of GAAP

  • Proven experience building and managing high-performing accounting teams

  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable processes and internal controls

  • Proficiency with ERP systems and a track record of driving systems improvements

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
