WHC Services is a growing provider of high-quality home support services dedicated to supporting individuals to remain safely, independently, and with dignity in their own homes and communities.

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated
CORU-registered Social Worker
to join our team in a newly created part-time role as a
Community Care Social Worker
.

This is a varied and rewarding position combining safeguarding oversight responsibilities with practical involvement in community care operations, including home assessments, risk management, care planning support, family liaison, and quality improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will also act as the organisation’s
Designated Safeguarding Officer
in accordance with HSE safeguarding requirements and organisational policy.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Social Worker looking for flexible part-time hours within a supportive and progressive homecare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support safeguarding concerns in line with HSE safeguarding policy and organisational procedures.

  • Liaise with HSE Safeguarding Teams and relevant healthcare professionals.

  • Conduct home assessments and client risk assessments.

  • Support person-centred care planning and service reviews.

  • Assist with complex client situations and family liaison.

  • Act as the organisation’s Designated Safeguarding Officer.

  • Provide safeguarding and risk management guidance to care staff and coordinators.

  • Participate in incident reviews, quality improvement, and compliance activities.

  • Support the development of best practice safeguarding and community care processes across the organisation.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification.

  • Current CORU registration as a Social Worker.

  • Experience in adult safeguarding and community care services.

  • Fluent English – written and spoken.

  • Strong knowledge of:

+ HSE safeguarding policies
+ Healthcare compliance frameworks
+ HIQA standards
+ Risk management and person-centred care principles.

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and report writing skills.

  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound professional judgement.

  • Full clean driving licence and access to own transport.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within homecare/home support services.

  • Experience conducting community or home-based assessments.

  • Experience supporting older persons and vulnerable adults in community settings.

  • Experience in incident management, quality assurance, or compliance activities.
