Civil Engineer

Location: Houston, Tx

Description:

Technical responsibility of material requisitions / calculations / engineering deliverables (from technical specifications to on-site delivery) for civil site development and infrastructure including site preparation, erosion control, rough grading, finish grading, drainage works through underground or surface networks, pond / containment design, flood mitigation, roadways, railways, and transportation.

About the Job:

  • Ensures timely and qualitative preparation of technical specifications and requisitions / CN / stress report / engineering deliverables in coordination with other disciplines.

  • Ensures contractual technical specifications are met by external parties / suppliers.

  • Ensures proper communication with vendors and technical follow up of the orders.

  • Adheres to project target and priority such as technical robustness, budget & schedule target

  • Proposes alternate for cost & schedule savings, energy savings in line with project target

  • Ensures timely reporting on engineering / requisitioning activities to the Lead Discipline Engineer.

  • Meets quality and HSE objectives of the project.

  • Interfaces with other discipline specialist engineers and possibly project support functions such as procurement and planning.

  • Supports more junior engineering employees.

  • For small requisition / standard equipment, acts as project manager for his requisition in charge of technical, contractual, expediting and inspection with spot support from project / procurement.

Role Dimension:

  • Dedicated to one or several projects

  • Supervision of more junior specialist engineers

  • Autonomy on scope assigned

  • Overall responsibility for engineering / contractual & quality control surveillance for civil site development and infrastructure works.

About you:

  • Engineering degree

  • 5 to 12 years of experience in design and execution of projects

  • Familiarity with all technical aspects of the discipline and experience in most of them

  • Construction experience on site

  • Fluency in professional English

  • Professional Engineering registration in Texas and/or Louisiana or possess ability to obtain within 4 months of hire.

  • Proficiency in software such as Autodesk InfoWorks ICM, Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis (SSA) or EPA SWMM
