Compensation:
$120,000 - 165,000 annually, based on experience

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and negotiate transactional documents, including asset purchase agreements, stock purchase agreements, and related business contracts

  • Advise clients on business purchases, sales, and general business matters

  • Structure and support business transactions from letter of intent through closing

  • Draft pleadings, briefs, and motions in civil litigation matters

  • Conduct and defend depositions

  • Manage discovery, case strategy, and client communications throughout litigation and transactional matters

  • Attend trial, hearings, arbitration, and mediation

  • Identify and mitigate legal risks for clients in both transactional and litigation contexts

  • Maintain strong, responsive client relationships and effectively manage client expectations

Requirements:

  • JD degree and admission to the New Jersey Bar

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in litigation, business law, or a combination of both

  • Ability to independently manage matters with appropriate supervision

  • Experience or strong interest in business transactions and contract drafting

  • Excellent client communication skills with a strong sense of empathy

  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage your own workflow and priorities

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Bonus Experience:

  • Completion of a civil clerkship

  • Estate and trust litigation

  • Business and contract disputes

  • Experience with business purchases, sales, or general corporate transactional work

  • Familiarity with closely held business structures and owner transitions

  • New York Bar admission
