Accountant

We’re partnering with our client, a well-established financial services firm in Chicago that is looking to add a high-potential Accountant to their growing finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone with 2–4 years of accounting experienc

who is looking to build strong technical accounting skills and gain well-rounded exposure across general ledger accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, and accounts payable.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to continue developing a strong accounting foundation in a fast-paced, collaborative, and detail-oriented environment with strong long-term growth potential.

What you’ll do:

• Support month-end close activities including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations


• Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness


• Assist with financial reporting preparation and internal reporting packages


• Support accounts payable processes including invoice review, coding, and vendor coordination


• Assist with audit requests and supporting documentation as needed


• Partner cross-functionally with finance and operations teams to resolve discrepancies


• Contribute to process improvements and strengthen accounting workflows and controls

What they’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field


• CPA required (or actively pursuing with a clear path to completion)


• 2–4 years of accounting experience, ideally in corporate accounting or public accounting


• Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles


• Exposure to month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and/or AP processes


• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail


• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment


• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, proactive mindset
