We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Part-Time Accountant to support the financial operations of our interior design studio. This in-office role is integral to maintaining the financial clarity and structure behind our design projects, ensuring seamless coordination between client billing, vendor management, and project budgets.

The ideal candidate brings a thoughtful, precise approach to their work and is comfortable operating within a collaborative, design-driven environment where multiple projects are managed simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries

• Manage accounts payable, including vendor invoices, purchase orders, and design-related expenditures

• Oversee accounts receivable, including client invoicing, retainers, and payment tracking

• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts on a monthly basis

• Monitor and track project budgets, expenses, and overall profitability

• Assist with monthly and year-end close processes

• Prepare clear, concise financial reports and project cost summaries for leadership

• Collaborate with the design team to ensure alignment on project billing, timelines, and vendor payments

• Coordinate with external accountants for tax preparation and compliance

• Uphold financial processes and standards that support the studio’s operations

Job Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, ideally within a project-based or creative industry

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and strong Excel skills

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational ability

• Capacity to manage multiple priorities with discretion and accuracy

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Preferred Experience:

• Background in interior design, architecture, or construction environments

• Familiarity with project-based accounting, including purchase orders, retainers, and vendor coordination

Work Environment:

• In-office position within a collaborative, design-focused studio
