Position Summary: Modelers are responsible for coordinating the

collection of data such as verbal instructions, sketches and drawings,

or engineering specifications and incorporating this information into

working plans, layouts and detailed drawings. The Modeler will also be

responsible for following current company procedures and standards to

ensure drawings are completed with quality and consistency.

3D Modeler Duties And Responsibilities

  • Work from notes, verbal instructions, sketches and drawings, or

engineering specifications; consolidates the information to be used

to prepare working plans, layouts and detailed drawings.

  • Reviews the design and helps resolve the details not completely

defined.

  • Determines the best combination of all the preliminary information

and contributing data to develop the final design.

  • Develops specifications, designs or drawings using engineering

principals, established company standards, procedures, and

instructions.

  • Follows best practices, policies and procedures in the design,

layout, and documentation of all company products. Specific tasks

may include making models, drawings and assemblies and Bill of

Materials using the CAD system and other computer tools.

  • Follows all company CAD best practices for model creation, drawing

creation, file management and revision control.

  • Verifies completed work; checks dimensions, Bills of Materials,

materials to be used, quantities, processing information, and

adherence to best practices.

  • Makes reasonable and sound decisions to meet budgets (both labor and

cost) and deadlines.

  • Provides scheduling, costing and technical information concerning

the designs supported as well as status updates and information to

internal departments and external vendors affected by design

development.

  • Resolves mechanical and fabrication problems with designed or

purchased parts used in a design. Assures that any changes are

documented and prepared in accordance with engineering change

procedures and in a timely manner.

  • Provides regular feedback and updates to project team members and

immediate supervisor about the status of design tasks.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.

3D Modeler Skills And Specifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; with the ability to

effectively communicate complex commercial or technical information.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with G-Suite, MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.

  • Proficient in 2D AutoCAD & Inventor 3D modeling.

  • Solid problem-solving skills.

  • Able to manage multitasking work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Able to work proactively and independently on a broad variety of

projects.

  • Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with

people in the course of work.

  • Willingness to work additional hours in order to meet job

requirements.

3D Modeler Education And Qualifications
Associates Degree or Technical Certification required.

Minimum of 3 years
